| Can toilet paper be given to cavies as a toy (fun to shred) or extra bedding? And what about tissue paper? | |

| I wouldn't give it to my babies. (1) They will eat (at least my piggies eat w/e they see infront) (2) If exessive amounts is consume it can har your piggy's belly and make it sick. I think in my opinion, to stick with the wood and tough plastic toys. I've heard and used newspaper for bedding but I had to stopped using it because I noticed my babies where eating it not good! hope I helped | |

| I've heard from other cavy owners that it is okay to use and if they swallow a large amount it won't matter. and i know toilet paper is supposed to be the safest bedding for hamsters since if they ate alot of carefresh it'd kill them but toilet paper can pass safely thru their system. | |

| I have done it. I normally give them toilet paper tubes with a sheet of toilet paper left on it as a treat. It is safe. | |

| Personally I would never use toilet or tissue paper for my cavy, I would stick to whats natural; hay and dried grass. If you are wanting to give your piggies a treat, I'd just give them a handful of apple ( chopped small to avoid mouthsores) | |
