How many?

How many cavies should I get when I do get some? What would be the best number to ensure no fighting would occur? I've always heard 2 or 3 get along best but whats your opinion?

Well, you can house males together, but be sure to give them a lot of spaces I would put them if I were you in groups of 2-3 I would recommend to put 2-3 boars(male) or 2-3 sows(females) in the same cage BUT give them space. When housing males you will get fights in a regular basis and it will increase if you have a cage with females near or inside the cage with them.

I reckon I'll proly get 3 sows so I won't have to deal with any fighting probs. Thanks for the info!

Girls will fight, but not as much as the males, the males are more dominant. By housing 3 sows together you will avoid the unwanted pregnancy. Less worries

Bandit if you get three cavies how big is there cage going to be.

I'm usually able to get my cages for pets cheap or free so I'll get as big of a cage as I can find and fit in my bedroom. At least 30x6.

I will recommend you a C&C cage, they are cheap and easy to make. The cage is made up of grids and coroplast. You can find coroplast at any sign shopt and the grids I think you can find it on bed bath and beyond. And I meant to say a 30"X62" cage. Oh, lol I'm not good with dimensions. I have no idea how big anything dimension is untill I calucalate it.

I think my Dad has made something similar to that before so I'll have him make it for me. I'll useless with making stuff.

Well one thing alot of ppl like (including me) is chatboxes or shoutboxes that are at the bottom of the board and used to instantly chat with other members. Some say it takes away from chat on the rest of the forum but I don't believe that. I think it actually draws more members in. I reccomend this kind if you do get one http://www.cbox.ws/

Yes, there is a suggestions section I believe is at the bottom of the forum page. if you go down there is the chatbox I have it enabled all you need to do is press where it says JOIN NOW and you will log in to the chatbox. I will fix it and try to put it bigger. Check it out and let me know.
